Casa Cielo Azul, the House of the Blue Sky, is a two story treetop home in Balcones de Majagual, just north of San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. After a period as a full time residence, the home is once again available for stays. Set within the canopy, it offers wide views of the Pacific and a quiet, elevated living experience.
The 3,200 sq ft home is designed around its surroundings. The main level features an open kitchen, dining, and living area framed by eucalyptus hardwood columns. Floor to ceiling screened walls allow air to move freely while keeping the space comfortable during tropical rains. An expansive deck extends outward, offering sunset views and a direct connection to the landscape.
Wildlife and sound shape the experience. Birds move through the trees, howler monkeys call in the distance, and the ocean can be heard from nearby beaches.
The home includes two primary bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, double sinks, and solar heated water. A third en suite bedroom sits on the lower level with its own private entrance and deck. A fourth bedroom with bunk beds is located upstairs and is well suited for children.
A private pool sits just outside the main living area, with an additional outdoor bathroom for convenience. Above the home, the Sky Bar offers a separate space to take in the views, finished with simple, rustic details.
The home is equipped with fibre optic Wi-Fi, a battery backup system, and a full laundry room for guest use. Secure parking and 24 hour security are provided, and cleaning service is included for stays of six days or longer.
The base rate covers four guests, with additional guests charged at $20 USD per person per night through the platform.
Access is via internal dirt roads within the community, and a four wheel drive vehicle is required. With the newly paved Costanera highway, travel to and from San Juan del Sur is typically under 15 minutes.
Please note that the home includes multiple levels and stairs, and may not be suitable for guests with mobility limitations.
